A note on terminology used on this page: BCC Supplies does not lend money. A BCC Supplies membership is a commercial installment contract, reported to the business credit bureaus as a commercial installment tradeline โ some pages also describe this as an "installment loan" in a descriptive sense, not a cash loan from a lender. See how this is structured โ
๐ The short version
โExperian Business is a completely separate commercial bureau from your personal Experian file โ a blank or high-risk business file still triggers a personal guarantee demand.
โThe Intelliscore Plus (1โ100) is predictive, not just payment-based โ it weighs credit mix, utilization, public records, and company background.
โBasic net-30 accounts rarely move the needle here; Experian rewards businesses managing real structured debt at a meaningful size.
โBCC Supplies' Momentum Plan reports a $1,872 high-credit installment tradeline to Experian Business, feeding the algorithm exactly what it looks for.
1. Your personal and business Experian files aren't the same
When founders hear the name "Experian," they immediately think of their personal FICO score. Because of this, many business owners mistakenly believe their personal Experian credit report and their business credit report are the same thing. They are not.
Experian operates a completely separate commercial bureau known as Experian Business. If you apply for a corporate credit card, an equipment lease, or a high-limit business loan, the underwriter is going to pull your commercial Experian file. If that file is blank โ or shows high risk โ you'll instantly be hit with a demand for a personal guarantee, putting your personal assets on the line.
To achieve true fundability and protect your personal wealth, you need to build a standalone Experian Business profile using only your EIN. Here's exactly how Experian scores your business, and how to build a top-tier file on autopilot.
๐2. What is the Experian Intelliscore Plus?
While Dun & Bradstreet uses the PAYDEX score to simply measure if you pay on time, Experian uses a much more sophisticated, predictive algorithm called the Intelliscore Plus. It ranges from 1 to 100, but unlike PAYDEX, it doesn't just look at your past payments โ it predicts the likelihood that your business will become 90+ days late on a debt within the next 12 months.

51โ75
76โ100
1โ10 (High risk): lenders will deny your application or demand a strict personal guarantee with high interest rates.
11โ50 (Medium-high risk): you may get approved, but expect low limits and unfavorable terms.
51โ75 (Medium-low risk): your business is considered stable โ you'll start qualifying for standard commercial terms.
76โ100 (Low risk / prime): the sweet spot. Lenders view your business as highly fundable, unlocking the best rates and highest capital limits.
Experian's own guidance confirms this 1โ100 range directly, and notes that โ unlike a personal credit score โ your business credit score is publicly viewable by potential lenders, partners, or competitors at any time.[1]
Experian is one of four Certified Vendors for the Small Business Financial Exchange (SBFE) โ meaning some of the data behind your Intelliscore Plus may come from bank and card-issuer payment history you can't see or check directly.
๐ฆ3. The problem with basic net-30 accounts
Many founders try to build their Experian Business file by opening basic net-30 vendor accounts โ buying office supplies or branded merchandise on 30-day terms. While a net-30 account is a good starting point for Dun & Bradstreet, Experian's algorithm is much harder to impress. It looks closely at your credit mix and credit utilization.
The gap: if your Experian file only shows a couple of $200 supply invoices, the algorithm concludes your business has no experience managing actual structured corporate debt. To get a high Intelliscore Plus, you need a high-impact commercial tradeline.
4. How to build Experian business credit on autopilot
Experian heavily rewards businesses that can manage a commercial installment contract with a high credit limit and a low utilization rate. Historically, getting one without a personal guarantee was nearly impossible for a growing business โ that's why BCC Supplies rebuilt the process from the ground up. With the Momentum Plan ($39/mo), you feed Experian the exact data its algorithm wants to see, without ever risking your personal credit score.
1. Apply with your EIN only
Your personal credit stays completely out of it. There are no hard or soft pulls on your personal Experian file โ we link directly to your business entity via your EIN.
2. Establish a high-credit installment tradeline
When you select the Momentum Plan, we multiply your $39 monthly payment by a 48-month term. From day one, we report a $1,872 high credit limit to Experian Business. Because this is structured as a commercial installment contract rather than a simple vendor invoice, it carries significantly more weight in the Intelliscore algorithm.
3. Generate positive payment history
Your monthly membership pays for access to the BCC Supplies platform โ including document generators, reporting dashboards, and business credit consulting. Every 0% APR payment is automatically reported to Experian Business.
4. Maintain perfect credit utilization
As you pay down your commercial installment contract over time, your credit utilization drops while your on-time payment history grows โ the exact formula the Intelliscore Plus algorithm looks for to push your business into the "Low Risk / Prime" category (76โ100).
โ 5. Separate your personal risk from your business growth
You can't build a scalable, fundable business if you're constantly leveraging your personal credit score to get by. Lenders want to see a standalone entity that can manage its own corporate debt. Read more on how Experian Business scores your file, or see exactly what gets reported each cycle.
BCC Supplies provides business tools, software, and education, and reports your payment history to major commercial bureaus. We are not a bank, do not lend money, and cannot guarantee specific Intelliscore Plus outcomes, as Experian's proprietary methodology is outside our control.
