How we research, verify, and correct the business credit information published across this site.
Business credit decisions involve real money and real risk, so the content on this site is held to the same standard we'd want if we were the ones reading it before making a decision. This page is a plain, honest account of how that content actually gets made β not a list of invented credentials.
We're not going to publish fabricated author bios or fictional credentials to look more authoritative. Instead, here's what actually happens before something gets published on this site.
BCC Supplies sells a commercial installment tradeline product. That's a real conflict of interest whenever our content touches vendor selection, credit-building strategy, or comparisons with other companies β and we'd rather name it plainly than hope readers don't notice.
Every page on this site falls into one of three categories below. We don't currently badge each page with a visible label, but the classification is real and it's what determines how we source, write, and disclose that content:
Reference material, data journalism, and how-to content that doesn't depend on BCC Supplies existing. We'd publish it the same way if we sold nothing at all. Bureau explainers, state filing links, glossary entries, and government-data trackers fall here.
Genuinely educational content β checklists, frameworks, and guides β that also discusses or links to BCC Supplies as one way to act on the advice. Held to the same sourcing standard as independent editorial, but the conflict of interest is disclosed rather than hidden.
Pricing, the platform tour, our company story, and any page that names and compares a specific competitor to BCC Supplies. Its job is to sell you on BCC Supplies. Facts are still sourced and checkable β see below β but the framing and the call to action are commercial, and we label it that way rather than dressing it up as neutral reporting.
Where a labeled comparison naturally favors BCC Supplies β for example, a page contrasting reported tradelines with unreported net-30 vendor credit β that's a real product difference we can source and verify, not a claim we get to invent because we sell the alternative. If we can't back a comparison point with a checkable source, it doesn't belong on the page, regardless of which direction it favors or which label the page carries.
Facts about bureaus, government programs, and regulations are checked directly against the issuing authority β not secondhand summaries.
Any claim about a specific competitor's pricing or terms is checked against that company's own current pages before publication.
When sources disagree, we favor the primary or most authoritative one and note the discrepancy rather than picking whichever number sounds better.
Pricing, regulations, and program requirements change. Published figures are periodically re-checked, not left to go stale indefinitely.
A real example: an earlier version of our FICO SBSS guide stated the SBA "requires" a minimum score of 155. During a routine re-verification pass, we found the SBA had already raised that threshold to 165 in 2025, and had separately sunset the entire mandate as of March 1, 2026. Both corrections were made the same day they were found, with the page's revision date updated accordingly.
Guides on this site carry a byline naming the individual freelance writer who wrote them, not an anonymous "editorial team" credit. Each contributor's specialty and journalism background are listed alongside their name, so you know what they bring to the guide.
They write for BCC Supplies independently, and the reporting judgment in each guide is their own. You can see who's who, along with their specialty and focus, on our contributors page.
As our contributor roster grows, some future writers may publish under a professional pseudonym to protect their personal privacy and security. Regardless of byline, every piece β pseudonymous or not β goes through the same editorial review process described above before it's published.
Where possible, claims are traced back to the organization the information is actually about, not a summary of a summary:
When a claim can't be traced to a primary source, we either cite the best available secondary source explicitly or leave the claim out rather than present an estimate as settled fact.
We also commit to accurate product-structure language, not just accurate numbers: our tradeline is a commercial installment contract, and we describe it as such β and as the commercial installment tradeline it becomes once reported β rather than reaching for looser terms like "loan" where the underlying legal structure is different. Getting this kind of terminology right is both a compliance matter and a basic accuracy one.
BCC Supplies is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any competitor named in our comparison content β Nav, Credit Strong, eCredable, Credit Suite, Ruproa, and others are named solely for factual comparison. Where a comparison naturally favors our own product, that's disclosed plainly rather than disguised as neutral third-party analysis.
None of our editorial content is sponsored, and none of it is affiliate content β we don't accept payment from the companies we compare ourselves against, we don't run paid placements, and no comparison, ranking, or recommendation on this site has been purchased. If that ever changes for any specific page, it will be labeled clearly on that page, consistent with FTC disclosure guidance, not folded quietly into unlabeled editorial content.
Published content is not static. When an error is identified β whether from our own re-verification, a reader report, or a source updating its own information β we correct it directly in the original page rather than only in a new post, and update that page's visible "last updated" date so the correction is traceable.
We do not quietly alter claims about our own products or pricing after the fact without similarly updating the visible revision date.
If you find something on this site that's inaccurate or out of date, we want to know. Email support@bccsupplies.com with the page URL and what looks wrong β corrections are reviewed and, where warranted, published with the page's revision date updated.
